Dear Friends of The Drew O’Donoghue Fund,
As we find ourselves in the heart of another autumn season, we look back at our fundraising year with great pride and sincere thanks for the steadfast generosity of so many of you as we continue to build upon the progress we’ve made in our fight to find a cure for Adrenocortical Cancer (ACC).
2016 has been another successful year for The Drew O’Donoghue Fund and we continue to have a significant impact in helping to drive change in the medical world associated with ACC.
We have made great strides since our first event in 2014. To date, The Drew Fund at The University of Michigan Cancer Center has now surpassed $275,000 and we’re well on our way toward our first milestone goal of $500,000 (with our ultimate goal of $1,500,000 getting closer and closer). The Center, under the direction of Dr. Gary Hammer, continues to focus on a multi-disciplinary approach, bringing together experts in related fields to provide coordinated and exceptional patient care to those diagnosed with ACC. Dr. Hammer and his team continue to be a force in the international fight against ACC.
Additionally, The Drew O’Donoghue Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York City has surpassed our initial goal of $100,000. Under the leadership of Dr. Diane Reidy, MSK has begun, with backing from The Drew O’Donoghue Fund, a clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a specific immunotherapy drug for use in the treatment of ACC. Through their relentless efforts, Dr. Reidy and her MSK colleagues remain at the forefront of both cancer research and treatment.
These successes are part of The Drew O’Donoghue Fund story, and are only made possible by your generous giving.
We are making a real difference as we try to accelerate research in the search for a cure for ACC; but, until that day comes, there is still much to be done. As you know, our success in fighting this disease relies primarily on privately funded support - the very support that you, the generous contributors to The Drew O’Donoghue Fund – continue to provide.
In an effort to ensure continued progress in this fight, we will again be hosting a year-end event. Last year’s event was a great success, not only in raising the critical funds needed for research, but in reinvigorating our mission and re-igniting our purpose.
Please join us at The New Yorker Hotel on November 30th for food, drink and entertainment. We hope to reunite with our ACC Challenge friends & family and hope to connect with new friends and partners in this effort.
The evening includes three hours of open bar, with several food stations. Tickets are $150 per person for open seating; sponsorship packages include reserved seating with table service. We will be announcing a keynote speaker soon.
